German Heritage USA is a website with blog format that’s all about the discovery and appreciation of German related culture, history and contributions in America.

Our tagline is, “Discovering German Heritage traditions, foods, music, and festivals across America”

We are all about freely promoting German related businesses, clubs, organizations and events in the USA. It was early in May 2025 that the braintrust of German Heritage USA got together to come up with an outreach plan to contact and network with others of German Heritage interest in an effort to grow our community footprint and to expand our brand of German Heritage USA to connect everyone.

Almost. We still have a lot of work to do revising and updating the content in this website. You will notice subtle changes taking place week by week that will be leading up to our big announcement.

Coming this spring, sometime in March 2026, some major news and invitations will be sent out that will surely make you smile. It’s just the start of something big that will grow bigger and expand exponentially almost daily. We will be starting a unique type of German Heritage Promotions Club within our GROUP page within Facebook!

Going into the 2026 spring season, there will be special promotions, live streaming events, contests, quizzes, gift’s and prizes. We will have special guests, interactive polling, fun videos, and exclusive sponsors.

Welcome to German Heritage USA 2.0: A New Chapter Begins—Here’s Why You’ll Love It. We’re turning the page on the ordinary and launching into something extraordinary. This fresh chapter of the new German Heritage USA blog brings a bolder vision, richer experiences, and even more inspiring ways to explore the heart and soul of German Heritage history, traditions, culture, and experiences in America.

I Brian Hingst, as the creator and publisher of German Heritage USA, had some health-related setbacks over the last five years or so that I had to overcome and recover from, including a total hip replacement last fall. I’m happier than ever to report that my health is great and I’m looking forward to continuing on the blogging journey. Now that I’m in semi-retirement mode, I will have more time to devote to this insightful German Heritage USA blog, and a few other blogs that I have published and manage.

I’m also in travel mode now as well. I reside in Tennessee near Nashville, and we recently traveled out west to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Honolulu. Guess what? Wherever I go, don’t you know German Heritage USA is going with me too?

Yes, this little website/blog of German Heritage USA is going places.

HOW IT ALL STARTED – HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

It was in the late summer months in 2010 when I first started to really explore my German Heritage online by searching on Facebook. At that point in my life, like many German Americans, I simply had a strong desire to explore the German side of my ancestry. I only knew a few German words and phrases at that time, and I had never even been to Germany yet.

There was this one Facebook fan page that had a name like German Americans Today or something like that. The woman that managed that page as an admin for a few years had a following of about 900 people or so. The page was consistent and always offered great shared content.

I remember that I was impressed, but I was more fascinated from her shared postings about German Heritage related restaurants, festivals, organizations, bands, dance groups, attractions, and clubs all across the United States and Canada.

It was the sort of connection that I have been searching for regarding discovering my German roots from a cultural, traditional, and historical perspective.

My discovery of this Facebook fan page showed me that there were hundreds of people, perhaps thousands just like me that were reaching out to learn more about their German Heritage by exploring German related news and events across America.

Sadly, after only a few months of visiting this Facebook fan page almost daily, I saw the admin post that she was going to have to indefinitely suspend her postings because of health problems and that was that.

GERMAN HERITAGE USA – BORN IN… 2011

After several months of pondering the idea to start my own German Heritage related website as it’s admin publisher… I took the proverbial plunge.

I first created German Heritage USA as an experimental website/blog to test out the idea of German Heritage blog content creation and curation content on June 1st 2011.

I first created the German Heritage USA Facebook FAN Page on November 14th 2011.

Yes, the German Heritage USA website/blog was a really slow going or learning process as some would say. The German Heritage USA Facebook FAN Page was an immediate hit!

People really enjoy the various German Recipes we share on it and also the various post we share of German Restaurants across the USA. Our busiest times of the year with multiple almost daily shared postings are obviously around the Oktoberfest season and the entire Christmas season.

Very good, high-quality article content, vibrant images, and videos are being posted then in quick order. German Heritage communities like Leavenworth WA, Frankenmuth MI, Helen GA, and many others are also very popular with our followers. Easter, Maifest plus German Beers, Bands, and Festivals always get a lot of views, likes, and comments.

THE ORIGINAL INTENT

It’s always been the intention of German Heritage USA to help freely promote all things German Heritage related across America whether it be a business, restaurant, festival, organization, club, band, museum, community location, dance group or special event.

Our research team at German Heritage USA scours the internet and various social media sites almost daily searching for high-quality German Heritage related articles, news, photos, and video, from original sources that we feel, may be of interest and value to our devoted followers.

We look at our German Heritage USA brand as sort of a German Heritage niche network that brings all things together, German related into an ever-expanding social hub.
